Announcing Our New Name, New Look, New Editor

The blog formerly known as is now!

Since Kennedy obviously isn’t running in 2008, we decided it was time to finally change the name. So please update your bookmarks if you’re a frequent visitor here. (And of course, tell your friends about our new, easy-to-remember web address.)

As many of our readers already know, lots of exciting new changes are in the works. We’ll be giving the site a makeover in the next few weeks, and we’ll be curious to hear your thoughts and suggestions on our new look and new features/functionality. Let us know how we can improve and make this site better.

I’d also like to introduce everyone to our new web editor, Tiger Haynes, who has been a frequent contributor here over the past year. Tiger runs “Ask Not: The Kennedy Legacy” (one of our sister blogs) about the Kennedy family and does a fine job. He’s a good kid, so go easy on him while we try to work out a smooth, seamless transition! If you’d like to drop him a line of welcome, feel free. His email address is

We will soon be launching several sister sites for the cause. The new web sites are already up and for now, the URL’s simply point to this blog. Eventually, each site will grow to feature unique content, and we welcome you to submit stories, photos, video, audio you have on Robert F Kennedy Jr.’s speeches and other public appearances.

The new websites we’re launching today are: (still active thru 2009) (yeah, we’re ready to go!)

Of course, all these new websites and upgrades cost money, and we need some help from you now.

You can help us offset the cost of launching all these new web sites by sending us some CREDITS if you’re a Word Press member. (Just go to upgrades in the Control Panel, and send credits to our WP username RFKin2008). If you’re not already a Word Press member, you can purchase credits through Paypal (Credits cost $1 each) and send them to our email address,

Thanks for reading this blog, and for supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for President!

  1. Let me be the first to guide some topic related suggestions for us here to mull over and decide whether or not WE ARE UNDER ATTACK FROM ENEMIES FROM WITHIN!!! and if so… with the readership of some evolved and highly intelligent people here… What are WE going to do about? Or Do we continue to tear each other to shredds about “hope mogering” or “Mavericking”…

    please read the following:

    Taken 09/05/2008 from internet from:

“Though few Americans realize it, Cheney and Rumsfeld worked through the 1980s and 1990s on emergency nuclear-response plans which allegedly suspended the American constitution and also Congress.[1] (Through these decades Rumsfeld was CEO of a major pharmaceutical firm, and in the later 1990s Cheney was CEO of Halliburton; but their private status did not deter them from continuing to exercise a supra-constitutional planning power conferred on them by Ronald Reagan.)

Even fewer Americans know that these rules, originally dealing with a nuclear attack on America, were extended by Reagan Executive Order 12656 to cover “any occurrence, including natural disaster, military attack, technological emergency, or other emergency, that seriously degrades or seriously threatens the national security of the United States.”[2] And few Americans realize that at least some of these rules, known technically as Continuity of Government or COG rules, were invoked before 10:00 AM on September 11, 2001.[3]

As he did in 2007, President Bush has again, on August 28, 2008, continued for another year the national emergency first officially proclaimed on September 14, 2001, along with “the powers and authorities adopted to deal with that emergency:”

Notice: Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to Certain Terrorist Attacks

Consistent with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency I declared on September 14, 2001, in Proclamation 7463, with respect to the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, New York, New York, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines flight 93, and the continuing and immediate threat of further attacks on the United States.

Because the terrorist threat continues, the national emergency declared on September 14, 2001, and the powers and authorities adopted to deal with that emergency, must continue in effect beyond September 14, 2008. Therefore, I am continuing in effect for an additional year the national emergency I declared on September 14, 2001, with respect to the terrorist threat.

This notice shall be published in the Federal Register and transmitted to the Congress.

    August 28, 2008.[4]

Once again appropriate personnel in Congress should learn and review what those “powers and authorities” are, since almost certainly they include COG (Continuity of Government) rules. In 2007 National Security Presidential Directive 51 (NSPD 51), issued by the White House, also extended for one year the emergency proclaimed in 2001; and it empowered the President to personally ensure “continuity of government.”[5]

NSPD 51 also contained “classified Continuity Annexes” to “be protected from unauthorized disclosure.” Congressman DeFazio twice requested to see these Annexes, the second time in a letter cosigned by House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson and Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Christopher Carney. The White House denied these requests, claiming that the congressmen lacked the requisite clearances. But as I wrote earlier this year,

“Congress has a right to be concerned about Continuity of Government (COG) plans refined by Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld over the past quarter century….The story, ignored by the mainstream press, involved more than the usual tussle between the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. Government. What was at stake was a contest between Congress’s constitutional powers of oversight, and a set of policy plans that could be used to suspend or modify the constitution.”[6]

Oliver North, who worked on COG planning with Rumsfeld and Cheney in the 1980s, was asked in the Iran-Contra Hearings about his work on an emergency plan “that would suspend the American constitution.” Democratic Senator Inouye, who was presiding, pounded his gavel and interjected that this was a “highly sensitive and classified matter,” not to be dealt with in an open hearing.[7] Congress has never discussed COG plans publicly since that time.

According to Wikipedia, “The National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601-1651) is a United States federal law passed in 1976 to stop open-ended states of national emergency and formalize Congressional checks and balances on Presidential emergency powers. The act sets a limit of two years on states of national emergency. It also imposes certain “procedural formalities” on the President when invoking such powers, and provides a means for Congress to countermand a Presidential declaration of emergency and associated use of emergency powers (emphasis added).

Bush’s denial of the Homeland Security’s right to review the COG plans in the classified Appendices of NSPD-51 should have been seen as a constitutional crisis — a line in the sand for Congress to assert its constitutional rights and duties. Now, one year later, I understand (although I cannot corroborate it from the Internet) that Congressman Kucinich has introduced or will introduce a bill for Congress, under the terms of the National Emergencies Act, to countermand the presidentially proclaimed national emergency. This is an important move, but it should not obviate the need for Congress to review rules which allegedly restrict its own powers under the constitution.

Between now and November the American electorate have an opportunity to present this demand to everyone running for office: that they will insist on vigorous congressional action to expose and dispose of these secret COG rules — rules that allegedly suspend the American constitution.”

    Got Kucinich?…

Where’s Osama!!! is there an Osama in the house?!

  2. And anothing thing…

With this “CROWD” these days operating in secretive and clandestine / un-accountable in every stretch of the imagination… That is headed up and takes dictoral marching orders from Dick Cheney (Himself)…

The phrase spouted “you’re either with “US” or against “US” in terms of deliniating “The Axix’s of “EVIL”… Who and what is “US”? are we going to be “US” or “THEY”?

Who’s Osama? and where the HELL IS HE??? really… He isn’t working with Saddam, he isn’t linked to IRAN, he ain’t with the Suadi’s… He was linked to BUSH & CO. for many years though…

Jack I do understand your frustration. I think many of us feel frustrated with what is going on. I know I am.

I signed a pledge the other day that I would be a Consitution voter. That when I go into the voting booth to vote I will consider who will be the one who will really fight for the Consitution. Who will be the one to fight to regain the freedoms we have lost?

Some might say I am a dreamer and living in la la land for even thinking that there is still time for us ( Americans ) to take this government back and once again be a government of the people for the people.

You use the term sham government. Yes, I am worried that it is in fact a sham and that we have lost. When I see election fraud already taking place this election, pressure being put on Catholics to vote Republican (because they are the pro-life party), and party bosses who deny someone who won an committee precint position within the Republican party by 54% of the vote being denied his seat because they don’t like his father, This young man in FL is 19 years old and he should be judged by his own merit and not by his father’s actions. Yet people fail to understand that if one is denied their seat because some party boss doesn’t like the person that someday it can happen to Progressives that the Party bosses want to silence.

If one believes in the process of our political system than we must fight for all voters regardless of what party or what political beliefs they have because to do nothing is just surrendering our country without a fight.I fear that this election will be another one that is stolen. I would like to think that if good honest Americans stand together no matter what end of the political spectrum and fight against the election fraud of both parties that maybe just maybe there would be real change.

Today I feel discouraged, but no matter how bleak things look we must keep fighting. I am not a quiter and either ore you Jack. We wouldn’t be posting here if we were the kind of people to just surrender and give in without a fight. We must keep a stiff upper lip and just do what we can to win the fight to save this country. America is worth saving.

We must defeat the bad guys.

  4. You know it Chrissy… Good to ‘hear’ from you again as well. Life is busy but there’s got to be time to check in here.

  5. Great to see Jack and Chrissy are still with us! I always enjoyed reading your comments here, you two have been mportant contributors to our community over the past year, and I hope you will stick around for a long time to come!

  6. Jack Mosel

    Thanx for the kudos…

Why isn’t Karl Rove in jail for contempt of congressional subpeona?

    Where’s Osama?

How can WE HERE let McCain get away with being such an obvious frontman (literally rovianesque) for lobbyists, special insider interests and hench-men (once Senators) who espouse ENRON LOOPHOLES, MORTGAGE FLEECING and OIL/WAR PROPOGANDIZING… He is ‘HANDLED’ by these criminals who set his agenda and who control his S-T-I-C-A-D-O (really bad sing-song) stump speaches… which will ultimately be OUR taxes and reputations (GLOBALLY) being flushed down the drain and continues the grand finally of the last act in the succession of what will be the completion of the wholesaling off of our ince proud country…

These shit bums and “rat-fuckers” ‘hatched’ from the NIXON ERA, have made us eat our tails by pinning a cheap flag-pin on us and laugh to our faces as they continue to bore and hone us un-mercifully… In daylight now with this newest fascist ‘ilke’ (McBush Deux) ramping up with ALL COWSHIT and NO COW (this time!)… NOT EVEN A BELL OR A HAT! SO HE’S A P.O.W…. Thanx John, Welcome Home as well, My Uncle was one too.

John McCain is a war hero…

Aside the propoganda… What is the McPain platform actually? and what the freek is up with Palin??? How the F*CK did WE GET HERE!!!

Chase Osama to the gates of hell?! is this guy for real? Where the hell is OSAMA?! and why is he off the table, let alone the radar?! 7 Trillion Hulliburton dollars later… He ain’t profitable to chase… WAKE UP!

ARREST KARL ROVE DAMMIT! “RATFUCKER” for real… and he’s proud of it too! Shut this punk down Obama…

Hey Biden… You know that “sack” you used to have.. Time to put it back on.

Go long or stay home boys..

Jack is good to see your posts too. You always make me think and that is a good thing, lol.

I agree we must impeach and bring to justice those criminals and that is why I am so mad the House Speaker for taking it off the table. I read today at CommonDreams that Dennis Kucinich was putting forth another petition for impeachment. We must impeach and do the right thing. I believe it is necessary to show the world that the Bush Administration does not nor never had represented the views of the American people. We have to show that we still know the difference between right and wrong in this county.

Karl Rove is a real peice of work. I can’t say in words just how much I dislike that man and how I think he is evil. I would like to see him arrested and the key thrown away.

As you know Jack I have been going back and forth between the Democratic Candidate and writing the name of the person who I think can save this country from the destructive path we are on. We need an honest leader who will dare to tell the American people the truth. I don’t see that in the campaign this year. I don’t vote the less of two evils. Some would say that is throwing away my vote but I believe that voting is a very serious matter and I don’t take it lightly. I believe in voting for the man/woman who is honest with the American people, who will really listen to people and what they say, and if they are willing to fight to save this country from those who have worked so hard to rip up our Constitution.

I watch the news channels and so many times the people who are talking on there miss the point. They attack on areas that they shouldn’t be attacking and the weak areas that they have a real issue on they ignore for the more stimulating gossip. Real debate and real discussion of the issues is not there. They don’t let the third party candidates be part of the debates which is a sham. We need to have election reform(true reform and not sham before).

Russia is going to be a factor in the upcoming year, plus all the other things that are coming down the pike. I just don’t see the Democratic Congress standing up to the plate and fighting to save this country for the American people. I see them joining the very party that has caused so much damage by keeping silent and letting them get away with it.

We are reaching a very difficult few years and unless we Americans start waking up from zombie land and start teaching ourselves the truth and gain knowledge of what is really going on in the world and not just drink the kool-aid; than I am afraid that soon we will reach the point of no return. Issues like Climate change can’t wait for more studies to be done as Sarah Palin has said because she doesn’t believe Climate Change is real.

We must continue to work hard and not give up. To be honest Jack I fear for the future of America and worry about the future that my nephew and whatever children he has will have to live in.

    Best Wishes

Thank you for your kind words. I am very humbled by them.

    Have a wonderful day.
